These terms govern your use of the FastMyPC software and website, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing or purchasing, you agree to them.
1. What you get
FastMyPC has two halves. The scan is free, unlimited and permanent: no account, no payment and no time limit. Deep clean, which applies the changes the scan identifies, requires a valid annual licence.
2. Your licence
A licence is personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable. It permits use on one computer at a time. You may move it to a different computer yourself, subject to a limit of five moves per rolling 30 days, which is displayed on your account page at all times.
Your activation code is a credential. Anyone holding it can bind the licence to a machine, so treat it like a password: do not publish it, share it, or send it to us. We never need it and will never ask for it.
You may not resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the software or your activation code, nor reverse-engineer, decompile or circumvent the licensing mechanism except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.
3. Subscription and payment
Licences are sold as an annual, auto-renewing subscription, in US dollars, through Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. The price charged is the one shown on the Stripe Checkout page at the time of purchase; we may change the price for future renewal periods with notice to the email address on your account.
You may cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — deep clean continues until that date and then stops. Scanning is not affected by cancellation.
If a payment fails, we continue to issue licences while the payment is retried, for roughly three weeks. If it is never collected, the subscription ends and deep clean stops working.
4. What the software does to your computer
FastMyPC deletes files and modifies registry entries that it identifies as safe to remove. It presents what it intends to change before it changes anything, and deep clean runs only when you start it.
You are responsible for your own backups. Take one before running deep clean. No maintenance tool can be certain that a file you have not opened in two years is one you do not want.
5. Availability
Activation, licence renewal and your account page require our servers. Once a computer is activated, the software verifies its licence locally and does not need a connection to scan or clean. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the online components.
6. Warranty and liability
The software is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will improve the performance of any particular computer or that it is free of defects.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate a licence without refund if it is used in breach of section 2 — in particular if an activation code is shared or redistributed. We will tell you why, at the email address on your account.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to the email address on your account before they take effect for your subscription, and the date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
